After Aavishkaar and Segnel Ventures, 500 Startups just announced a new fund for India, Bangladesh and few other markets. Increasing number of local and international VCs are showing interest in Bangladesh’s growing startup scene. Last year alone saw more than half a dozen investments into startups. 2016 started with a bang, BDcabs raised an undisclosed amount from Turkish investor Ethohum at a valuation of US$6.5m.
Top of that, Dhaka has more than a dozen venture capital firms now and new firms are joining the space at regular intervals. Similarly, number of angel investors is also on the rise. It means, funding scenario is going to be pretty different in coming days.
We have put together a list of startups that received funding last year and this year. The interesting thing about this list is that: it is extremely diverse compared to what is happening in other neighboring countries.
There might be startups and companies raised funding last year that we are not aware of, if you know any startup, please send details to info@futurestartup.com.
