Future Startup is an independent business and entrepreneurship knowledge platform. We help our readers make sense of business and entrepreneurship in Bangladesh and beyond through original reporting, research, and analysis on the companies, people, markets, and ideas shaping the economy.

Bangladesh's economy stands at an inflection point. Its current economy of roughly $460 billion is projected to reach over $1 trillion by the end of this decade.
Despite that growth, there has not been any meaningful platform to help people understand the businesses, markets, and entrepreneurial opportunities inside this economy. We started Future Startup to build that — the knowledge infrastructure to help readers, entrepreneurs, and operators understand and navigate business and entrepreneurship here.
Aspirationally, we want to build something at the intersection of HBR and The Economist — like the two had a baby, and it covered Bangladesh's business and entrepreneurship scene first, and a few more emerging markets like it over time.

"Teach people to tap into their own agency, give them access to knowledge and opportunity, and they build wonders."
We believe an entrepreneurial knowledge platform — built by sharing what's real and connecting the people building it — can help unlock human potential to solve real problems. Right now, that knowledge and opportunity remain unevenly distributed in Bangladesh. Our goal is to inspire and enable aspiring founders to start, and existing businesses to grow, by giving them access to knowledge, connections, and opportunities they won't find anywhere else in Bangladesh — and, in time, in the emerging markets around it.

We are not a news site. We don't chase press releases or current events — we ask how something was built, why it worked, and what it means for the market and economy. That approach has produced a readership smaller than mass-market media, and more valuable per reader than almost any other platform in the country.
