DBID is a Good Idea but All Policies Involve Trade-offs

DBID is done to support the ecommerce industry with good intentions. However, it does not mean it cannot go wrong. All policies involve trade-offs — a double-edged sword. Regulators will be wise to keep that in mind and work hard to ensure that DBID does not stifle the growth of the digital commerce sector. The initiative has already received skepticism from many smaller digital commerce companies such as f-commerce companies selling products on Facebook. Read

Pickaboo Experiments with 3 Hours Delivery in Dhaka

Dhaka-based mobile and gadgets focused omnichannel ecommerce startup Pickaboo has launched a new 3 hours delivery service. The service, aptly named FastPick Express, promises guaranteed 3 hours delivery within select Dhaka metro areas between 9 AM – 5 PM. Pickaboo already offers two delivery options: regular and FastPick delivery. With the FastPick Express, the company adds another faster delivery option for customers. Read

SM² Accelerator Launches Inaugural Cohort with 03 Startups

SM², a seed accelerator program for Bangladeshi startups backed by SBK Tech Ventures, SOSV MOX, and Miaki, has unveiled 03 early-stage startups selected for its inaugural cohort. Three companies are: internet sharing startup Bonton Connect, edtech startup Ostad, and live commerce fashion startup LOOX. We have previously featured all three companies in FS. Read
