Future Startup: Editorial Fellow (Full-time)

As an Editorial Fellow, you will work closely with Future Startup CEO to bring to life some of the most important projects of Future Startup. This is a great introductory opportunity for someone interested in a career in non-fiction business/tech writing, tech, and/or startups. You should be passionate about writing and excited to tell stories about entrepreneurship and technology. Building Bangladesh's local knowledge platform to enable entrepreneurship and innovation drives us, it should drive you too!

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with FS CEO to execute mission-critical projects
  • Plan and execute weekly and monthly content projects 
  • Manage FS weekly interviews i.e. organizing, transcription and publishing 
  • Write and edit well-researched articles and reports on entrepreneurship, tech, business, etc
  • Manage and execute branded content projects for clients 
  • Support in organizing FS community initiatives

What you can bring to the table 

  • Graduates from any discipline/subject can apply
  • Self-driven and ambitious, able to generate ideas, original stories, and insights 
  • Strong passion for business/tech and non-fiction writing  
  • Excellent writing skills in English and Bangla 
  • Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking ability
  • Adept at conducting secondary research using the internet and other means
  • Familiarity with writing and/or editing analytical business stories 
  • Familiarity with the startup, entrepreneurship, and technology industry 
  • Committed to work hard and learn in a fast-paced, unstructured, and ambiguous startup environment with minimum oversight 
  • Comfortable joining an early-stage company and working with a small team
  • Literacy in graphics design, digital marketing, and audio and video editing is a plus!

The Important Bits

  • Job Type: Full Time, 6 Days a Week, 9 AM to 5 PM (or equivalent hours)
  • Location: Mohammadpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh
  • Reporting to: CEO
  • Gross Salary: 20,000 BDT to 30,000 BDT per month will be offered depending on the experience
  • Annual and Sick Leaves
  • One day weekend (Friday)
  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid work option that may include working part-time from home and part-time from our office in Mohammadpur.
