EdTech Startup ROOTs Edu Raises an Undisclosed Pre-Seed Investment Led by Omicon Tech Ventures

ROOTs Edu, a Dhaka-based ed-tech startup focusing on the competitive exams space, announced that it has raised an undisclosed pre-seed investment led by Omicon Tech Ventures. Mehedi Hasan, Chairman of Omicon Group of Industries and an investor and Director of Nagad, and Rezaul Karim, Deputy Managing Director of Omicon Group have been investors in the company and participated in the recent round.

Omicon Group, a Dhaka-based conglomerate, has deep expertise in the education industry. The group owns leading publishing imprints such as Lecture Publications, Sure Success Publications, and Newton Publications, has the largest distribution channels with access to over 70% of educational institutions, and has one of the biggest digital content libraries in the country.

Founded in 2019, ROOTs Edu has been focusing on competitive exams. The company says it has recently completed 2,00,000 Live Class Minutes with the best educators of the country and served about one lakh students.

With the new investment, ROOTs Edu aims to invest further into growth and product development. "Currently ROOTs is covering SSC, HSC NCTB curriculum and varsity entrance admission tests", explains Tahir Hasan Riddha, Co-founder and CEO of ROOTs. "With this investment, we will explore more exam categories and onboard more iconic educators on the platform. We'll also enhance our in-house live class solution, learning analytics, and content recommendation engine. We are working hard to give a test of true EdTech platform to the students of our country."
