Adventure Capital, a frontier markets-focused venture capital fund founded by Fahim Saleh, announced yesterday that it has made an undisclosed pre-seed investment in Jatri, a ticketing app that aims to address the public bus transportation challenges in Dhaka. The company has been running a pilot for a while now and is currently available on Trust transport services in Dhaka.
Founded by Aziz Arman and Zia Uddin, Jatri, which is yet to launch publicly, will allow customers to book their seat in advance in public buses in Dhaka, an impossible feat in public bus transport in Dhaka, view the location of the bus, allowing an estimate of when they should leave for the bus stand and so on. The company has also introduced an electronic ticketing system and secure digital payment. Bus owners will also able to track earnings in real time and the safety of their drivers using the Jatri app.
