Misha Ali To Lead Uber Eats In Bangladesh

Today Uber Eats, the food delivery unit of ride-hailing giant Uber, announced that it has appointed Misha Ali, a former Marketing Director of Bikroy.com and co-founder of home-made food delivery startup Cookups, to lead Uber Eats’ operations in Bangladesh. With 12 years of experience in e-commerce and start-ups, Misha Ali will focus on launching and building Uber Eats’ business in Bangladesh, starting with Dhaka, said a press release sent to FS.

Prior to joining Uber Eats, Misha worked a host of successful companies including Bikroy.com, Renata Limited, Hewlett Packard and Ogilvy. Most recently Misha founded Cookups - Bangladesh’s leading home-chef aggregator, a platform that empowers housewives by giving them financial independence while working from home.

“I've always been passionate about getting delicious food to consumers at their doorstep through technology. Food delivery is about to become a massive industry in Bangladesh, and the opportunities for food delivery companies are endless. I am extremely excited to be part of Uber Eats -- a company that is changing the way people eat food everyday, across the world,” said Misha Ali - Lead - Bangladesh - Uber Eats.

“We are excited to have Misha on board to lead the launch of Uber Eats in Bangladesh. His knowledge of the market and experience, especially in leading a food delivery start-up, will add immense value to our business in Bangladesh. We are optimistic about our upcoming launch in Dhaka and will leverage our rides network here to connect with consumers. We look forward to becoming an integral part of the food culture of the city,” said Bhavik Rathod - Head of Uber Eats India & South Asia.

Uber Eats started in 2014 as a small delivery pilot in Los Angeles and launched as a separate application in Toronto in December 2015. Since then, it has grown fast, and is now a stand-alone app available in 350+ cities around the globe.
