YY Goshti Opens Registration For Its YY Social Event 'Disrupting Agriculture'

YY Goshti and EMK Center are set to organize a community event called 'Disrupting Agriculture', at the EMK Center on the 26th of April. The objective is to gather and discuss how a community together can impact lives by building social businesses in the field of agriculture. Registration for the event is open now.

Recent research studies suggest that in order to sustain the nearly 10 billion people in 2050, crop and livestock resources need to be kept in check. Hence, technology-led innovations in the field of agriculture are necessary.

One of few ways is to realize the importance of social businesses in the field of agriculture. Hence, impact investors and social businesses are on the lookout of green revolutions, digital agricultural, precision farming and big data across the globe. There is a real opportunity to build meaningful ventures and make a difference in the society.

Why you should attend

In Dhaka, we have been seeing a growing number of entrepreneurs bringing innovations in the agriculture sector by introducing modern farming technologies, building apps around various aspects of agriculture, providing better income opportunities to farmers, introducing various new crops, connecting households with farmers and trying to create a greener landscape in Dhaka.

The event features a number of community influencers, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem players.

M.K. Aaref, the CEO of EMK Center will open the event. Other speakers include startup founders such as Fahim Uddin Shuvo, founder of Regen, Ahsan Rony, founder of Green Savers and Farzeen Ferdous Alam, founder of Oggro Ventures, Debojit Saha, a researcher, and consultant working with different commercial brands and development agencies. Furthermore, business leaders such as Tafsir M. Awal, Director of Multimode Group and Md Ehsanul Bari, Co-CEO of Grameen Euglena will also be in attendance and speaking in the program.

The event will embody the aim of YY Goshti, which is to help shape ideas into viable social business ventures. The event will aim to acquaint the attendees with technologies that will lead to innovations in the field of agriculture. Apart from listening to speakers, the event also offers a wonderful networking opportunity for entrepreneurs, enthusiasts, and aspiring entrepreneurs alike.

The event will be held on 26th April, Thursday from 5:30 PM to 8 PM at the EMK Center.
