Robi Axiata Limited, the second largest telecom operator in the country, has recently launched an online portal shop.robi.com.bd and aims to become the ‘one stop shop for smartphone deals’. The newly launched platform offers smartphone deals for Robi subscribers and also free home delivery within the Dhaka city.
Telecom operators in the country are increasingly showing interest in a myriad of digital services including commerce to payment to healthcare to entertainment.
Grameenphone, among the telcos, first started an e-shop with a stated ambition to build an ecommerce operation that drew huge attention as well as pressure for the operator. In fact, the company later decided to go slow on the ecommerce front. Banglalink has also an e-shop under its digital services wing.
Now Robi joins the crowd. Robi has launched a subdomain e-shop with a clean design and offers deals on handsets from Walton, Symphony, Samsung, Huawei, Micromax, Apple, Maximus, and handsets from a host of other brands.
