A World Of Apps: The Fastest Growing App Categories In 2015 [Infographic]

The way we consume and experience web has completely changed over the past few years. Most of us now consume media via small-screens of likes smartphones and tablets, to be precise, within apps. According to a dataset by G&R, exclusively provided to FS later in 2015, Opera Mini, the mobile phone browser, tops the rank of a list of browsers prepared based on the use of visitors of most of the Bangladeshi websites.

Most of the Bangladeshi internet users are mobile first users and majority of these users also care about mobile data consumption. Opera Mini is popular because it claims that it consumes less data which means browsing internet via Opera Mini is less costly. This is also indicative of the future of web consumption. Although, app is not as prevalent in Bangladesh as it is in other parts of the world but we can safely predict that future is not going to be any different. And the world has been seeing a steady growth in App usage over the last couple of years.

According to Flurry Analytics, a company tracking usage across millions of apps, global app usage increased by 58% in 2015 compared to 76% in 2014 and 103% in 2013. Below is a chart depicting the growth of app usage across a range of categories. The chart is by Statista.
