Xiaomi, the fastest growing Asian Unicorn that valued at $45 billion and ranked the world’s third-largest smartphone maker, has taken its first step outside of Asia.
The Chinese smartphone maker has launched its business in Brazil and started making devices in Brazil for sale locally, promising to dramatically undercut rivals on price in the first big step beyond Asia.
Xiaomi revealed its first device for the Latin American country on July 01— the Redmi 2, the latest version of its budget Android device. The phone will be available online at Xiaomi’s Mi.com store from July 7. Pre-registration for that sale started from yesterday.
