For Skilled Manpower

The ‘Meet The Press’ event for BASIS Students Forum was scheduled for 11:00 am. I reached at the venue a bit earlier. Not for the event in particular. I spent my few early minutes chatting with few students group from different universities came to attend the event. These young people are contagiously hopeful and enthusiastic to make something happen. Most of them are tech lover and they are very excited about upcoming BASIS Students Forum. Many of them have already started to plan what they will do under the platform!

Good show always starts late. This was no exception.

At around 11:30 Shameem Ahsan, Present of BASIS came to venue along with his few colleagues. We all took seat. In a very cordial announcement Shameem Ahsan informed us that BASIS has formed a Student Forum in order to build bridge between educational institutions and IT industry with a vision to create skilled manpower. This is indeed a very hopeful initiative. “The long term goal of the forum is to create skilled and adequate manpower in the IT sector. The forum also targets to prepare the youth to face the challenges of the future IT world. BASIS Students Forum will introduce students to real-world IT demands to prepare the students, along with many other activities”~said Mr. Ahsan.

This initiative is believed to be able to create a bridge between the IT sector and the universities. The forum will be open for both IT and non-IT background students. “The structure of the forum in every university will be made up of one mentor, one organizer and seven executive members including two female students. Apart from that any student from any IT-related departments or any student who has interest in IT can join the forum”~said Ariful Hasan Opu, BASIS Director and convener of BASIS Students Forum.

BASIS Students Forum has already been formed in many universities and in over 30 universities, the process has already started to form the forum.
