Jatri Raises $1.2m in Pre-series A Funding, Eyes Nation-wide Expansion

Jatri, the Dhaka-based public transportation startup, announced today that it has raised US$1.2 million in a Pre-series A round of investment from Reflect Ventures, Brain-Too-Free Ventures, and SBK Tech Ventures. With the fresh funds, the company looks to expand nationally and expand its offerings beyond ticketing and vehicle rentals.

Founded in 2019, Jatri calls itself a public transport journey planner, digital ticketing, fleet management and mobility marketplace. The company says it has facilitated 3.5 million transactions for transport tickets with thousands of bus partners in three Bangladesh cities. Jatri started off as a bus tracking and digital ticketing platform and has since evolved to offer several other services. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Jatri has also launched a car rental service.

Previously, Jatri raised an undisclosed seed round from Superangel, Falcon Network, Tahseen Consulting, and several angel investors from transport apps such as Bolt, Uber, Bird, Angkas, and Buseet in January 2020.
