We've moved from intrusion to attention economy. Everything works on invitation. Understanding underlying change in market is critical for survival. Start-ups should not fall prey of convention of pushing people to buy their products. Instead pay heed to you offer design. Give something that deserves attention. Before launching product you must think hard and fast about what can add another extra point to your offer. Even you can think of some small scale surveys. Use survey monkey or Google Docs to make things simple. Start thinking about your offer three months ahead of launch. Adjust continuously based on everyday feedback you get from your customers. Remember offering right product is one of the most critical prerequisites of your product success. Here goes few pointers to help you.
#1. Do small research
Conduct a small research to know what other people are doing out there. Try to find imperfections in their dealings and focus on them in your offer.
#2. Arbitrary anything does not sell
A good copy can make people emotional but it seldom help in selling if it can't clarify why one should buy a product. Make sure you are not talking too much and trying to sell something distantly relevant to your offer.
#3. Make sure customers really care about features you are offering
You can give lots of things but if you don't ensure the features your customers care most then no body will give a shit to your product. For a Telecom firm the first thing is "network" and everything else comes last. Make sure your network works.
# 4. Make an offer that your customers can't refuse
Give people what they really want, not that they say they want or you think people want. Step out of comfort zone, do more than anybody else in market. But do it in a right way.
#5. Time is the killer app
Ice cool anything is not for Winter.Don't offer your tour plan if not its vacation.
#6. Ask for right price
This is not joke that money is still one of the most important things that customers think about before making a purchase!
#7. Tell your why and what clearly and make clear distinction with your competitors
Make sure your are telling them clearly what is your offer and why they should care and you are telling them in a way they care most. Make it easy for them that they can draw a segregation line between your offer and that of others in market.
Stick with it 🙂
