“First we shape our social graph; then it shapes us” — Henrik Karlsson

Hello everyone, we're super excited to announce that we’re hosting our 6th FS Talk on 17 June 2023. The event will feature a talk by Hussain M. Elius, Founder of Wind.app and Founder and Former CEO of Pathao. This will be our 6th FS Talk, you can read takeaways from the previous talks here

Registrations are open now. You can register by filling out the form at the end of this announcement or going directly here.

FS Talk is a free but invite-only event. Please register to get an invitation.

Background: FS Talk, Future Startup’s flagship entrepreneurial lecture series, is a small, friendly gathering of entrepreneurs, change-makers, doers, and artists from a wide range of backgrounds, where we get together to talk about all things entrepreneurship, building things, trials, and challenges of entrepreneurial journeys, and meet each other and share ideas and opportunities.

Creation is a lonely job. It gets easier when you have a community to share and unburden from time to time.

FS Talk features two segments: a lecture + Q&A, followed by networking opportunities. Towards the end of every month, we invite a fascinating speaker, usually a fellow maker, to share their hard-earned wisdom on a timely topic with us.

Speaker: Hussain M. Elius

Hussain M Elius is a Bangladeshi serial entrepreneur and the founder and former CEO of Pathao and the Founder and CEO of Wind.

Elius started Pathao in 2015 out of a garage in Dhaka with 3 friends and scaled it to a multinational operation. By 2021, the company had scaled to reach over 8mil+ users, 300,000+ drivers, and over 30,000+ merchants and 10,000+ restaurants. Today, Pathao is a super-app that offers 14+ different services including ride-sharing, logistics, e-commerce, food delivery, payments, BNPL, and more. The company is one of the most prominent startups to come out of Dhaka’s fledgling startup scene. Elius stepped down as the CEO of Pathao in 2022.

In 2022, Elius founded Wind, a TransferWise/PayPal - built on Web3 technologies with self-custodial on-chain wallets that facilitate instant, almost free, global payments.

Elius was born and raised in Dhaka and completed his postgraduate degree from North South University, Bangladesh. He became a Forbes 30U30 Consumer Tech listee in 2019; and currently serves on the Advisory board of NSU Startups Next, an incubator created by his alma mater to promote tech startups.

Elius is considered one of the most influential founders in Bangladesh’s growing tech scene.

You can read our coverage of Elius here and learn more about him on his website here.
