Chaldal and SpaandanB Launches Food Aid, Aims to Provide Food Aid to 1000+ Families

Food Aid, an initiative by Chaldal, in collaboration with SpaandanB will be donating grocery bundles to 1015 underprivileged families this Ramadan. From 5th May onwards, all proceeds raised by the Food Aid platform will be donated towards this project with the goal to raise at least 3,00,000 takas.

Food Aid is a platform by Chaldal that was created under UN Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger. Currently, it is assisting the urban poor affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to connect those with the means to give and those in need of help. The system is built in a way so that 100% of donations go towards funding food bundles, without any additional operational costs. SpaandanB, on the other hand, is a 501C(3) non-profit organization that works in three fundamental areas- education, health, and economic hardship. It has three schools around Dhaka catering to orphans, slum children, and underprivileged families. SpaandanB and Food Aid are therefore joining forces to feed the families of the children that attend these schools.

Since 2020, Chaldal has been working alongside SpaandanB to provide food bundles to marginalized families and have been able to help over 10,000 people thus far. This time around they are hoping to raise 3 lac takas to help provide food for an additional 4,000 folks through the Food Aid platform. Each bundle of food consists of necessities such as rice, lentils, oil, potatoes, sugar, salt, onions, and soap and is sufficient to sustain a family of 4 for roughly 3 weeks.

Around 1.5 lac takas has been raised so far and the project requires your help to achieve its target of 3 lac takas.
