Praava Health, the healthcare startup that describes itself as “a network of Family Health Centers” and offers family doctors and diagnostics services in Dhaka, has launched a home care plan under which Praava’s doctors and nurses will visit patients at their home. From now on, patients who have difficulty attending a doctor or prefer to have a doctor visiting them at home could call up Praava's helpline and ask for a home visit. The idea is to deliver quality health care service to patients' doorstep with the help of mobile and web technology."Praava Home Care Plans is an initiative we have taken to extend our healthcare services to the doorsteps of our patients," told a spoken person for Praava to FS via email. "Our Family Doctors and Nurses will visit patients at their homes when they require."
Like many other Praava Health services, patients can choose from a list of monthly renewable subscription packages ranging from a single visit to 5 visits, ten visits, and unlimited visits. And there is also one-of options to avail the service. "The way our Home Care Plans work is quite simple. To avail any of our plans, a patient or his/her family members can contact Praava Health through our Patient Services Number or by messaging our social media pages, such as Facebook or Instagram. A booking is then made, and services are explained in detail to the patient."
There are four options available under these Home Care Plans:
Praava is currently covering Gulshan, Banani, and Baridhara area and plans to expand the service overage over the time. "In the future, we want to extend this offer to other areas in Dhaka city and provide additional services to what we are already offering with these Health Care Plans.
Since Praava calls itself family health center, this is a logical and right move for it. And it does not require a mention that there is a massive need for this service in Dhaka. Olwel, another healthcare startup, has been operating in this space for a while now. With Praava entering the area, it will be interesting to see how it pans out in the coming days.
Founded by Sylvana Quader Sinha, Praava health started its full-fledged operation in February 2018 in Dhaka with one center in Banani. It has since expanded as a team and as a business. In an interview with FS in July this year, Ms. Sylvana told us that Praava has "registered and served thousands of patients since its launch in 2018, and 60% of its visits are from repeat customers". It has six labs that can do 250-unique tests. And it has built Bangladesh’s first PCR lab for molecular cancer diagnostics.
Praava also offers a handful of membership plans. It has annual membership plans ranging in price from BDT 4,500 to BDT 28,000.
Praava claims that it has the first-ever fully integrated hospital information system in Bangladesh. It means Praava keeps all medical records of a patient, which can access anytime from anywhere using its mobile app. Its lab is fully integrated with technology. As soon as a lab machine runs a test, the report automatically gets stored in its central system in the name of the patient. Once you are registered with Praava, you can connect your app with your Praava registration number and access your records online from anywhere. You can also make appointments and communicate with Praava using the app. Ms. Slyvana told FS that Over the years, Praava plans to build about 30 facilities around Bangladesh.
