BDcabs Launches A New Transportation Service Targeting Enterprise Clients

BDcabs, one of the earliest car-hailing services in Dhaka, has launched a new service called Gari Technology targeted towards enterprise clients with on-demand transportation solutions. The company claims that it has already started working with a small number of corporate clients in Dhaka. From Gari.com.bd website:

“GARI Service is the first of its kind in Bangladesh providing truck, bus, covered van, and relevant solutions with safety and reliability by connecting you with the largest fleet. We have a call center with Live tracking facilities for our valued customers to provide the cheapest and quickest service. You can have special fast booking for on-demand or advance too. All of our fleet are equipped with Camera and GPS Tracking System for the safety of your assets and passengers.”

It connects taxis and rental cars with nearby passengers through mobile apps and website. The company has a partnership with Toma Taxi and also raised an undisclosed amount from a Turkish investor in 2016.

Although BDcabs is one of the earliest players in the market, the company failed to create any meaningful traction for its taxi rental business largely because of its model. Over the past one year, the market for taxi rental business has become particularly competitive, thanks to a host of new players who are trying to upend Dhaka’s transportation business.
