This Is How Fast Internet Penetration Has Grown In Bangladesh Over The Last Decade

The internet came late to Bangladesh with the country getting connectivity in 1996. In the last decade, the country has experienced phenomenal growth in internet penetration.

According to data from Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission, the number of internet users almost doubled in the last two years; it shot up from 30.48 million in 2013 to 58.31 million in February 2016.

The rapid growth of the internet penetration is providing new opportunities for the country’s development. In the coming years, more changes will take place which will have significant implications for business and standard of living.

We tried to look back and see how fast Bangladesh's internet penetration has grown over the last decade, by taking data from ITU and IWS, in order to gauge how fast changes will take place in the coming decades. It is phenomenal.
