China's Alibaba To Enter Indian Market

Alibaba, the Chinese e-commerce giant, is planning to enter Indian market, said a report by the India Times.

Early this year, the company also announced its interest in Bangladesh market. Alibaba plans to enter Indian market in 2016, said officials.

"We are planning to enter the e-commerce business in India in 2016. We have been exploring very carefully the e-commerce opportunity in this country, which we think is very exciting on the backdrop of Digital India," Alibaba Group President J Michael Evans said.

Indian ecommerce sector is quite crowded having companies like Flipkart and Snapdeal and many more. Amazon also entered the market last year. With Alibaba's entry things are going to be more interesting.
