FSindex.co, Bangladesh's first comprehensive platform to discover startups, entrepreneurs, and investors, launched today in Dhaka in a press and startup networking event held at the City’s EMK Center.
Supported by EMK Center and Strategically developed by Future Startup, a startup and entrepreneurship focused media platform, FSindex aims to be the home for information and data about Bangladeshi startups, entrepreneurs, and investors.
The platform, a social enterprise by nature, is open and collaborative, anyone can add and edit profile [s] of startups, entrepreneurs, and investors and contribute to make the platform better and it will remain so.
To contribute to FSIndex, one just requires to register through their existing social media accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or LinkedIn — this helps ensure user authentication and high quality contributions to FSindex — and do the job.
“Information, access, and connection are three things that can empower any ordinary person to do something extraordinary,” said Ruhul Kader, co-founder of Future Startup and FSindex.co during the launch event, “at FSindex our aim is to make sure that everyone gets the information to understand what’s happening in the starup scene, gets access to resources they need to build their companies, and has the right connections to get help. FSindex is an enabler for entrepreneurs and investors in Bangladesh to make things happen. ”
Internet is an equalizer. In a conversation with a panel of investor and entrepreneurs, M.K. Aaref of EMK Center said, “now everyone has access to almost every resources out there. It is comparatively easy today to build things now than the past. Think big, start small, keep at it, and you will get there."
Managing Director of BD Venture, Shawkat Hossain, Founder of Doctorola, Mohammad Abdul Matin, Founder of Styline, Khobaib Chowdhury, and Founder of SmartKompare, Ron Mahbub attended a panel discussion on 'startup, challenges of early stage founders, and startup ecosystem in Bangladesh' during the launch event moderated by M.K. Aaref, CEO of EMK Center. Around 40 startup founders, entrepreneurship enthusiasts attended the event.
Bangladesh startup ecosystem is growing fast and FSindex, hopefully, will help propel that growth by helping startups to find investors and new users, investors to get to know startups and founders, and entrepreneurship enthusiasts to know more about changing landscape of startups in Dhaka.
