3 Indian Startups, News in Shorts, ZoomCar, Lendingkart, Have Raised New Funding

The Skimm of India ‘News in Shorts’ has raised US$20 million in series B funding from Tiger Global. News in Shorts provide news snippet via an app. The Skimm, a US based emailed newsletter service providing startup, also offers the similar service and help people to skim news and save time. News in Shorts received US$4 million earlier this year from same investor.

ZipCar of India ZoomCar has raised US$11 million from Sequoia Capital, Empire Angels, and Nokia Growth Partners (NGP). ZoomCar provided self drive car rental service in India. The startup takes care of oil to insurance to road side assistance.

Indian fintech startup Lendingkart has raised a Series A of $10 million. The investors include: Saama Capital, Mayfield Fund, Shailesh Mehta, and Ashvin Chadha. Lendingkart, a clone of LendingClub, offers platform for small businesses loans that allows businesses to apply for loans online, bypassing banks and other traditional finance institutions.
