T-Zone Raises BDT 6.5 lac In New Funding and Aims to Go Strong In 2015

Local e-commerce startup for custom designed t-shirt T-Zone raises an amount of BDT 6.5 lac in new funding with an eye for further expansion in 2015. The funding, that came from a previous client of T-Zone, will help the startup to streamline its business and strengthen its customer service.

Started small back in 2012 T-Zone soon became the sole supplier of custom designed t-shirts for corporate and events and startups in Dhaka. Its quality product and focus in service helped it gain trust from its customers and expand. But “for last two year we’re kind of stuck at the same place due to lack of fund,” says Arman, founder of T-Zone, “we tried hard to manage a small seed fund since we understand this business and we know there is potential to explore.”

The culture of early stage funding is yet to take root in Bangladesh. Well, there are informal network of raising seed for your venture. But having an investor at the early stage is a chance of close to non-existence. Several reasons can be attributed to this: the very idea of startup is still new in Bangladesh, the risk associated with it, and the culture we have-immediate gain. I hope T-Zone’s funding while helping them to go strong this year; will also help to shape the culture and bring in few more angel investors.

With new funding T-Zone aims to sharpen its service and design new strategy to get more corporate clients. “We’ll be focusing more in providing better service and build a corporate culture and will also go for more of institutional clients this year”-says Arman.

From its beginning T-Zone struggled a lot. It came from multiple facets. Fund was a perpetual obstacle for expansion and to add more pain there are issues with delivery and conventional e-commerce related problems that Bangladeshi e-commerce businesses face. However, things got to change now.

“This really feels good and we have real plans to work on” says Arman and you will see something exciting things from us this year”.
