Novoair, the private carrier of the country that launched its first international flight Dhaka to Yangon a year ago, has announced that it will operate four flights a week from Dhaka to Kolkata from December 14 this year.
Started in 2013, the airline now flies to Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Sylhet, Jessore, Saidpur, Rajshahi and Barisal and has been largely focusing on domestics routes. With Kolkata-Dhaka route, it will be adding two internationals routes.
Airline on international routes is a quite a competitive business. While Novoair is taking a slow and steady route, it will still be a difficult feat to pull off. The airline is offering a two-way promotional fare for Dhaka-Kolkata route which starts from BDT 10,000 including all charges.
