About

Insight & Inspiration for Entrepreneurs

Future Startup is a media startup based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We aim at reinventing the way how content on startup, entrepreneurship, and making ideas happen are being produced and distributed in Bangladesh.

We want to bring democracy to the world of content generation & distribution for entrepreneurs and makers and creators. We are determined to make it more open, more collaborative, and less monopoly. You will get access to knowledge, story, inspiration and information that you need to start. And you’ll get authority to share your story, knowledge, and information as well.

We believe in human potential to solve world’s critical problems by taking initiative and making ruckus. We want to make sure that in Bangladesh nobody is barred from the capacity of making a difference just because they don’t have access to information, know-how, or inspiration.

We only want to do two things: 1) inspire people to start and take initiative 2) and help them to make it happen.

Culture at Future Startup

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit” Aristotle

  • Be good, do good: Our works are targeted for the greater good of humanity. While doing anything, keep in mind that it’ll bring positive impact for FS, FS team, Bangladesh and world.
  • Be radically open: Not keeping secret is best way to keep secret: Transparency rules. Make everything public. Be brutally honest about your works, deals, and business and everything.
  • Be a giver: Be generous. Give often, give more. Givers make wonderful person, best team mate, and successful person.
  • Everyone is entrepreneur: Take initiative. We don’t preach about entrepreneurship only, we take initiative as well. Everyone of FS team is an entrepreneur in its true sense.
  • Love what you do: take either way, do what you love or love what you do. Work without passion produces bad works.
  • Think long term: While doing anything think how it will turn out in long run, how it will impact FS, team, world down the line 2 years, 5 years and 10 years.
  •  Be remarkable: Strive to be the best. Be remarkable.
  •  Take responsibility: Don’t blame anyone, don’t punch, and don’t back bite. Take responsibility and give away credits.
  •  Commitment matter: Be on time, on word.
  •  Walk your talk: Don’t preach anything that you don’t follow.
  •  Lead by example
  •  Think more often, reflect more often
  •  Think at least 2 minutes before making every decision
  •  Don’t compromise with passion, quality, commitment for anything
  •  Make work fun: All work no fun makes Zack a dull boy. Make sure you are having fun in what you are doing.
  •  Together we win: Work in team. Lead through team. Build with team.
  •  Genius is hours: To be a genius and remarkable work harder than the person next to you. Outperform everyone else in this metric.

Samira Zuberi Himika

Founder | Managing Director, ‘team engine’

She, by nature is optimistic but a dreamer, she swims in the clouds but keeps a toe on the ground and she is passionate but tends to look at the wider picture. She believes that for an entrepreneur, it is necessary to know everything that is needed to run a business, never to show the arrogance of passing off a work thinking it’s too miniscule for your position. Well, she does everything, and having genetically inherited OCD, she is always cleaning around (Good for us!). Unfortunately, a tireless workaholic, she set the bar so high for other team members that sometimes it becomes hard for others to keep up. She is caring and supportive, always encouraging people around her.
