Insights, Inspiration, and Research for Building Lasting Enterprises
Future Startup is a knowledge and research platform covering entrepreneurship, business, expertise, and technology in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh’s economy stands at an inflection point. The country’s current economy of approx $460 billion is projected to reach over $1 trillion by the end of this decade. We are building a knowledge infrastructure to help our readers understand and navigate business and entrepreneurship in this growing economy.
Aspirationally, we want to build something at the intersection of HBR and The Economist, kind of like if these two publications had a baby and it covered Bangladesh’s business and entrepreneurship scene.
We provide in-depth analysis on Bangladesh’s business and entrepreneurship landscape and also produce high-quality and practical knowledge for entrepreneurs, operators, investors, and intellectually curious readers to understand and build in this market. In the future, we hope to do the same for a few more markets in the region.
If we put it differently, Future Startup’s vision is to build an open, comprehensive business + entrepreneurship knowledge and research platform to democratize access to business and entrepreneurship knowledge, expertise, and opportunities.
The platform currently hosts over hundreds of long-form, in-depth interviews with founders, leaders, investors, operators, experts, and makers from different walks of life and thousands of analyses and essays on business, entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial life.
FS runs Bangladesh’s largest entrepreneurship and tech-focused newsletter, FS Weekly, with 11,900+ subscribers.
FS also runs an entrepreneurship and business knowledge lecture series called FS Talk, a narrative strategy studio called FS Narrative Studio, and a research wing called Future Research.
The Thesis
We believe that creating an entrepreneurial knowledge platform by sharing resources and connecting like-minded individuals can help unlock human potential to solve social problems. Teach people to tap into their agency and give them access to knowledge and opportunities, and they will create wonders. However, entrepreneurial knowledge and opportunities remain unevenly distributed in Bangladesh.
We aim to create Bangladesh’s open and comprehensive online business and entrepreneurship knowledge platform to democratize entrepreneurial knowledge and opportunities to enable more entrepreneurship and innovation, and thus economic opportunities.
Our goal is to inspire and enable aspiring founders to start organizations and existing businesses to grow their businesses by providing them access to knowledge, connections, and opportunities that they would not find anywhere else in Bangladesh.
Free website: An easily accessible website that provides articles, interviews, and reports on entrepreneurship, business, and the tech industry in Bangladesh.
Newsletter: A weekly entrepreneurship and tech-focused newsletter with over 11,000+ subscribers, probably the largest such newsletter in Bangladesh.
FS Talk Community: Through our interviews, regular community events, and workshops, we seek to foster a community of entrepreneurs and professionals who can come together to support each other in building consequential enterprises and making a difference in the world.
FS Narrative Studio: Narrative Strategy and marketing solutions. After writing about entrepreneurship, business, and technology for more than 11 years, we've identified a consistent pattern: many exceptional companies/organizations in Bangladesh have remarkable stories but struggle to tell them strategically for maximum business impact. Despite building exceptional products, they remain unknown to the customers, investors, and partners in a differentiated manner that can produce exceptional business results. We design powerful narrative strategies and create and distribute powerful branded storiessuch as articles, blog posts, white papers, reports, and content-based microsites that help shape opinions, build awareness, grow the business, and attract investors’ interest and media attention.
Future Research: Custom on-demand market research around entrepreneurship, startup, and technology business.
Books: Publishing important books on business, management, and work.
