Professor Shoaib Ahamed Bhuiyan, founder of US-based new media initiative Republic TV US, becomes the first Bangladeshi-American to receive a Joint Legislative Resolution honor from the New Jersey State Senate and General Assembly for his contributions to media and community leadership during Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month.

The recognition highlights Professor Shoaib’s work in media, education, and public advocacy, as well as his efforts to amplify the voices and achievements of the Bangladeshi American and broader South Asian communities in the United States.

His work emphasizes human dignity and equity regardless of race, nationality, faith, or political affiliation.

Previously, Professor Shoaib was also the first Bangladeshi American elected as a Faculty Senator at the City University of New York’s LaGuardia Community College (LAGCC) Senate. He has appeared in interviews and discussions across a wide range of media outlets, including ABC News, NBC News, Al Jazeera, TRT World, Future Startup, and several other international platforms.
