We’re super excited to share that we’re hosting a second panel on the state and the future of food safety in Bangladesh, in collaboration with Khaas Food Limited, on 21st August from 3 PM to 4 PM. What We'll Talk About

The conversation will cover:

  • The Current Food Safety Landscape:  Identifying key challenges across regulatory, institutional, and implementation levels
  • Pathways to Solutions: Exploring evidence-based approaches and policy recommendations that can drive meaningful change

We'll also share findings from our new white paper that took six months to complete. Some of the discoveries will surprise you—like the fact that Bangladeshi consumers are willing to pay 21-52% more for food they trust.

Why You Should Care

Here's a question that might surprise you: What if more than 50% of the fish, milk, and vegetables you bought last week contained harmful elements?

That's the reality most Bangladeshi families face every day. Every year, 26-30 million people—roughly one in six Bangladeshis—get sick from foodborne illness. The economic cost? More than $3 billion annually.

However, the findings from our white paper show that effective action could not only save lives and improve public health, but also unlock significant economic benefits—potentially worth billions in market opportunities and hundreds of thousands of jobs

Why This Conversation Matters

Bangladesh's food system is changing, whether we pay attention or not. The question is: Will that change benefit ordinary families, or will it leave people behind?

The experts joining this panel believe the answer depends on having the right conversations now. They've years of experience working intimately at the intersection of food, agriculture, health and nutrition. Their insight can elevate our understanding and help find solutions to tackle this critical challenge.
