No-doubt we are in crisis. Several types of it. Our share market is not working, our traffic system stuck, our rate of poverty is not going down, our people are not getting proper education, the rate of unemployment is increasing, our government is not working for us, our politics has been stuck with political problems instead of national problems and bla bla. I doubt the list has an end!
That's good. Problems are good because they give the chance to work, to use your brain and to go onward. Problems are not problem at all rather opportunity to solve them. But the debacle lies somewhere else. What is it? It is, we are falling short to fix those problems. Still, we have 40% people under poverty line, still we have to spend hours on road, still our politics is not working for the country. But what is the reason? What making us to live in this hell of problems? Why all these things have fucked up?
I have one answer as per-we are in the crisis of creativity! Everybody giving solutions but not creative enough to fix the problems. We are getting some second grade solutions in compare to the complexity of our problems.
There are lots of problems crying out to get our attention. Most of those problems are common and simple and they need some simple solutions but nobody is giving so.
A creative marketplace for creative ideas enabled with easy access is critical. Our systems are not working as we want them to work because they are either obsolete or duplicate. To solve any problem you need customized solution specifically design for that particular problem by aligning all external and internal factors to be considered. As we are in creative crisis led by our education system we are fond of borrowing systems from others to fulfill the vacuum that all have proved worthless.
Only, well engineered creative ideas can medicate our problems like traffic Jam, poverty, illiteracy with minimal efforts. The movement of creative solutions for good should be pioneered by our education system as it claim to be engine of productivity of the country.
It has been said that, creativity will be the number #1 leadership quality of 21st century. However we have significantly failed to master the skill at the expected level.
I'm steeping into 23 years in 2012. It's scary to become older. It becomes more scary when you stand at the end of your educational life and earned nothing literally but wasted time. Our education system has a very exclusive characteristics that, it will help you to spend at-least 25 years of life at Dorm and class rooms. Unfortunately, it just does not worth that much time.
As I am going to end my journey of formal education this year I was just retrospecting what I have got from all those 20 years of my education. Unfortunately, the obvious gain is that, I've a cultivated tension for having a job at any where if they pay. Not peaceful!
Pathetically our education system is not made for out of box thinking even not inside box rather under box thinking.
This article does not aim at solving the problem of our education system rather starting a conversation how can we make the system better.
Having grudge over education system is commonplace in almost all the societies, I guess, since the perception of quality has no commonly accepted standard. and gross comments like "
It becomes more scary when you stand at the end of your educational life and earned nothing literally but wasted time" are also very common.
There are significant amount of debate about the purpose of education among pundits. Some says education is to prepare a human being to become a human being (vague, isn't it?), some says Education is to install values. Others are angry as Education solely aims to make good executives/workers etc.
And we've examples of successful persons, who have depended less on education. There is a nice saying that "Properly educated peoples are self educated". So, I'm not trying to counter your arguments/grudges on the ground that our education system is finer, rather, I'm trying to say that this type of anger/disappointment has become a cliche, especially in South Asia.
I'm expecting deeper thoughts from this Blog 🙂
p.s. 'scarier' is is less scary than 'more scary'.
my belief is that Education system out of all things makes us street smart which our system is not doing. That's the point. However, I said the purpose of this article is -"
