Announcing FS Talk December 2022

Hello friends,

After a long hiatus, FS Talk, Future Startup’s flagship entrepreneurial talk series, is back. We’re hosting our first virtual FS Talk on 24 December 2022. The event will feature a talk by HandyMama founder and CEO Shah Paran.

Registration is open now. While FS Talk is a free event, it is invite-only. Please register to get an invitation. You can register here

Context

FS Talk is a small, friendly gathering of entrepreneurs, change-makers, doers, and artists from a wide range of backgrounds, where we get together to talk about all things entrepreneurship, building things, trials and tribulations of entrepreneurial journeys, and meet each other and share ideas and opportunities. Creation is a lonely job. It gets easier when you have a community to share and unburden from time to time.

FS Talk features two segments: a lecture and Q&A, followed by networking opportunities. Towards the end of every month, we invite a fascinating speaker, usually a fellow maker, to share their hard-earned wisdom on a timely topic with us.

December speaker: Shah Paran, CEO, HandyMama

Shah is the Founder and CEO of HandyMama; first on-demand home services company in Bangladesh. He has been building HandyMama from scratch into a multimillion-dollar valued company over the past 7 years. Shah has created employment for over 3000 service professionals. He is a US State Department Fellow and an alumnus of the Founders Institute, Accelerating Asia, and Impact Collective. Shah has seen every shade of building an early-stage company in Bangladesh and has a fascinating story to share. You can read our coverage of HandyMama here

Format: The talk will be mostly informal discussions. However, having a structure is always useful. We'll follow a rough format:

  • Introduction: An introduction from FS, followed by agenda for the meet-up.
  • Founder Talk featuring Shah Paran, CEO, HandyMama
  • Discussion and Q&A: Ask anything about FS, venture building, share ideas, and comment.
  • Closing remarks and announcements

Details of the event agenda will be shared with the registered users a few days before the event.

Schedule

  • Duration: 1:30 hours.
  • Date: 24 December 2022
  • Time: 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. (Bangladesh time)

Where: Zoom video conference. Links and details will be shared over email with selected participants.

Limited seats: We’re planning to invite 15 people to this meetup. So please register early and only register if you genuinely want to attend.

Please find a registration form below and fill it up. We’ll get back to the selected participants with details.
