20 EdTech Startups To Watch In Bangladesh

Education in general, edtech in particular, is one of the fast-growing sectors globally. In the last few years, we have seen the rise and gradual cultural acceptance of MOOCs across the world. We have experienced a growing use of technologies such as AR/VR in delivering educational content. Experiments around teaching technology skills and creativity have been on the rise. Startups like Lambada School in the US have been testing a new educational model where you only pay for your education when you get a job after graduation. Education is a huge thing and offers an incredible opportunity for entrepreneurs to build consequential ventures.

According to Tracxn data from 2016, more than $9.6B is being invested in the sector since 2006. Yet, it is easy to say that the sector is just getting started and we are just scratching the surface.

In recent years, we have seen a growing number of EdTech startups in Bangladesh. We have all kinds of companies starting from SaaS - targeting schools and management, online education, online tutoring platform, online test preparation platforms, after-school programs for kids, online coding platforms, and so on. Here are 20 startups that we have found interesting. For making this list, we have borrowed from a similar list we published in 2016 here and a list put together by the CEO of Light of Hope Waliullah here.
