Women's Innovation Camp 2018 Is Accepting Applications

Access to Information Programme (a2i), Prime Minister’s Office, has been working to increase visibility for women and enforce equality of women through various empowerment activities.

After the success of the past two events, a2i will be organizing Women’s Innovation Camp 2018 this year which will be open for all women. Women applicants from all over Bangladesh will be able to submit their innovative ideas based on the problems in identified sectors. The most feasible and implementable ideas will be taken forward in the competition. This camp is a collaboration between a2i and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MOWCA). This is done to provide an open platform for the innovative women to participate in bringing a solution to national problems.

The purpose of this camp is to identify some significant problems in the society and bring a feasible solution to those through an open competition. The best ideas and solutions will be awarded in the event finale and the ideas will be facilitated for successful implementation.

Every winning team will be awarded BDT 100,000 as prize money (tax applicable). a2i seeks technical and implementation partner for the WIC winning projects. When they will find a technical and implementation partner, the development and implementation cost will be assessed and will fund it accordingly. Only technical solutions are encouraged.

After the submission of the idea, it will go through several steps. The ideas will be at first shortlisted; then the idea will be screened and evaluated by a technical expert panel.

Solutions are expected from the following problem sectors:

  • Saving Life
  • Disaster Management
  • Education, Employment, and Training
