Robi, the second largest telecom operator in the country, has launched a payment app called “RobiCash App” which enables Robi users to make payment for their utility bills, Easyload purchase and train tickets, said a press release sent to Future Startup.
Key points
The app is only for Robi users.
You can pay utility bills, easyload you phone and buy train tickets
How to use it
Download the app from Google play store and then register by dialing *787# from their Robi mobile number and *400# from Airtel and set a PIN or Password and will also have to purchase the electronic float from any of the registered RobiCash Agent Points available throughout the country.
The RobiCash application ensures security by making it mandatory to use a One Time Password (OTP) every time a user accesses the application from mobile, tab or computer.
At the end of every purchase or payment, the user will have to enter the PIN/Password for confirmation. Customers will get instant SMS confirming success of the payment made.
This is an interesting move on the part of Robi given that GP has already a wallet service called GPay and Banglalink also provides similar services through its digital service wing. Telecom operators are increasingly getting into digital service space and almost everyone is openly discussing about their digital strategy, RobiCash sounds interesting an interesting idea in the overall scheme of digital strategy for Robi.
