The 5th Commward, Excellence in Creative Communication, is about to start today at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka. Launched in 2009 by Bangladesh Brand Forum, Commward is the largest initiative in Bangladesh in recognizing and inspiring creative advertising in business and marketing.
The event, organized in association with Cannes Lions, has a long schedule and of-course a list of world renowned marketers as speakers. The day-long festival includes: Communication Summit, Cannes Showcasing, Panel Discussion and Gala Award Ceremony. According to BBF, the festival will be attended by 600 professionals from the business, marketing and creative agencies this year.
Commward: How It Works
Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF) introduced COMMWARD' in 2009 with a view to recognizing the effectiveness of the communication that takes place in different media to reach out to consumers. Commward recognizes the best ad campaigns produced and run in the country every year.
Nomination: Advertising, PR firms, production houses and creative departments of local and multinational companies are invited every year to nominate their most creative and effective ad campaigns run in press, electronic and online media.
Panel Assessment: A number of Jury Panels assess each nomination based on 04 scoring criteria namely: concept, strategy, execution & impact.
In 2014, total 260 nominations were received in 19 categories. However, two categorizes are added this year, Art Direction and Campaign for Women – making the total categories up to 21. A new recognition “Agency of the Year”, will be given this year to the agency earning the highest score on its total win of Grand Prix, Gold & Silver.
In-terms of number of nominations, this year outperformed all past years. Commward'15 has received total 367 nominations from 36 advertising agencies and creative departments of various organizations.
As mentioned above, Communication Summit is an integral part of Commward festival. The Summit brings in world renowned marketing experts with a view to impart the best practices and learning on creative marketing and communication.
