Future Startup Partners With Knowledge@Wharton

Almost five years ago, we started a group blog called Future Startup to share stories of Bangladeshi entrepreneurs and makers and to share information about starting businesses and things in Bangladesh. It was nothing serious. We just wanted to spend our spare hours in a more productive and meaningful way.

And then from late 2013, things started to unfold rapidly and FS started to become a go to place for many people who wanted to start something in Bangladesh, know about Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, and makers, and to know about fast growing startup eco-system in the country. We never thought this would happen.

2014 was a huge year for FS. In later 2014, we decided to take it a little more seriously and build it around the idea of a mission driven media startup with a concentration in startup, entrepreneurship, and in general business. We decided to build a hub of information, inspiration, and insight for starting and building things in Bangladesh. That moment forward, we have always dreamed to make FS an intellectual background for local innovation and thought leadership.

Today, FS is an independent platform and trying to figure out things. But we are far from what we want to become and we are still getting started. We are trying hard to find a definition for ourselves and get the product right and find a roadmap for way ahead. That’s why we are happy to announce our new partnership with Knowledge@Wharton as our publishing partner and as we become a content licensee from Bangladesh.

This is no big deal for many. There are Bangladeshi magazines with excellent international affiliations. But we are particularly excited about this collaboration because this is going to be an extraordinary learning opportunity for us. This means we will be able to serve our audience with more rigorous content while exploring other opportunities around to take few of our stories to the world through better platforms. This means we will be able to learn world class editorial practices and approaches to distributing knowledge. We believe in a better tomorrow. Because, as a wise man put it, "the future of anyone is bright, and it all depends on how one manages the present".
