Join Our Online Panel Discussion on The Future of Safe Food in Bangladesh

We’re super excited to share that we’re hosting an online panel discussion on the state and the future of safe food in Bangladesh, in collaboration with Khaas Food Limited. The panel features some of the people doing critically important work to change how Bangladesh thinks about safe food and to ensure safe food for all Bangladeshis. These are the people building companies around safe and natural food, safer supply chains, and technology that connects farmers directly to your dinner table and researching natural agriculture.

To join the event, please fill out the Google form below. We will send you the link to the live event or recorded discussion with notes after the event.

The event comes as we release our comprehensive and most important white paper yet, titled "You Are What You Eat: Bangladesh Food and Health Report 2025", a joint initiative of Khaas Food and Future Startup.

The paper examines the critical relationship between food systems, dietary habits, and health outcomes in Bangladesh, with a focus on the food safety challenges in Bangladesh and the emerging safe food industry. The panel discussion will focus on the future of the safe food industry in Bangladesh as well as highlight some of the findings of the report.

When: Thursday, August 7th, 3:00-4:00 PM
Where: Online (link sent after registration)
Cost: Free
Register: Please fill out the Google form below. We will send you the link to the live event or recorded discussion with notes after the event.

Meet the Panelists

Our panel brings together six people doing important work tackling this challenge in different ways:

What We'll Talk About

The conversation will cover:

  • The challenges of food safety in Bangladesh
  • How the safe food industry started in Bangladesh and why it's growing so fast
  • What challenges these companies face
  • Where the industry is headed and what it means for families across the country
  • Real stories from people building these businesses every day

We'll also share findings from our new white paper that took six months to complete. Some of the discoveries will surprise you—like the fact that Bangladeshi consumers are willing to pay 21-52% more for food they trust.

Why You Should Care

Here's a question that might surprise you: What if more than 50% of the fish, milk, and vegetables you bought last week contained harmful elements?

That's the reality most Bangladeshi families face every day. Every year, 26-30 million people—roughly one in six Bangladeshis—get sick from foodborne illness. The economic cost? More than $3 billion annually.

But here's what's encouraging: A new generation of entrepreneurs is doing something about it. They're building companies that prove safe food isn't just possible in Bangladesh, it's meaningful and profitable.

Why This Conversation Matters

Bangladesh's food system is changing, whether we pay attention or not. The question is: Will that change benefit ordinary families, or will it leave people behind?

The entrepreneurs joining this panel believe the answer depends on having the right conversations now. They've seen firsthand how consumer demand for safer food can drive innovation, create jobs, and improve public health.

Consider this: The organic food market in Bangladesh could reach $225 million by 2031. That's not just revenue, that's jobs for farmers, opportunities for small businesses, and safer meals for families.

But getting there requires understanding both the opportunities and the obstacles. These panelists have navigated both, and they're willing to share what they've learned.

What You'll Get

By joining this discussion, you'll:

  • Understand the real state of food safety in Bangladesh (beyond the headlines)
  • Learn about companies and brands that are making a difference
  • Discover investment and career opportunities in a growing industry
  • Get free access to our comprehensive white paper

Whether you're a parent concerned about your family's health, an entrepreneur looking for opportunities, an investor interested in this sector, or simply someone who cares about Bangladesh's future, this conversation has something for you.
