Founders' Valley Contest: Shark Tank Style Competition Offers Up To €10,000 Prize Money For Winning Startups In Asia

Founders’ Valley Contest is a startup and business idea contest organized by Deutsche Welle (DW). It is designed for only Asian countries where the 5-minute winning pitch of yours can win up to €10,000.

The contest is open to existing startups as well as to new ideas. The deadline for submission is set on 29th September.

The Contest

Founders’ Valley production team will narrow down the participants from all over Asia. The top 10 nominees will enter the final round. The final round will be comprised of 2 prizes.

The winner of the first place will win the €10,000 and it will be chosen by Fridtjof Detzner - an award-winning founder of a successful German startup.

The second place will be chosen as the Popular Choice Award. The most shared video from the Founders’ Valley Facebook page with the highest engagement (views, comments, likes) will win €5,000.

What is DW Founders’ Valley?

Deutsche Welle (DW) is Germany’s international broadcaster which is known for its in-depth, reliable news and information that promotes the exchange and understanding between the world’s cultures and people.

DW has created the Founder’s Valley, which is actually a 10-part TV Series that follows Fridtjof Detzner. Founders’ Valley is organizing the Contest To kick start the TV series.

Fridtjof Detzner is on a journey through Asia to meet visionary founders, startups and activists that work on creating scalable solutions for difficult challenges in both local and global arena.

The journey of ‘Ideation to Success’ of any entrepreneur, the difficulties that were conquered and the troubles and opportunities in a digitized and globalized world - Founders’ Valley will explore and showcase all these unique protagonists and stories.
